Hello ARRL Public Information Volunteers Uploaded 4/16/2025 You are invited to join members of the ARRL Public Relations Committee as we host a live, interactive, workshop to help your club get ready for 2025 ARRL Field Day. The event will be live on Zoom Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 8:30 PM EDT. Please register at this link, as advance registration is required. We’ll cover: How to build a social media strategy to engage members of your local community. Press releases and media strategy to get the news to help you promote the event. Tips for doing great interviews and media hits. Getting a proclamation from your local officials. Building your club’s visual asset library to help promote next year (and throughout the year) Much more! You’ll have a chance to get your questions answered by veteran PR experts from around the ham radio community. If you can’t join us for the live event, a replay will be posted after. If you haven’t already, please download the 2025 ARRL Field Day Public Relations Kit [PDF]. It will give you a toolkit to get started – including a press release template that you can use for your activation. The Cherry Blossom Special Event Station Uploaded 4/7/2025 Ed Campbell KD4SMQ made 65 contacts at The Cherry Blossom Special Event Station on Saturday March 22nd at the EMA Bunker in downtown Macon using the call W4BKM. He has received 4 certificate requests so far. Thanks to Scott Dooley KK4CS and Brian Faulds KQ4OUY for their help with this successful event. |
Forsyth Georgia Ham Tailgate and Swap Meet Uploaded 3/5/2025 The date is May 10, 2025 for the 5th Annual Tailgate & Swap Fest located at the Monroe County Recreational Center 100 Dan Pitts Drive Forsyth, Georgia 31029. Open for Seller’s Setup ONLY from 6:30am – 8:00am General Admission Starts at 8:00 AM – Ends 2:00 PM. This event will be held indoors at the recreation center’s main gymnasium building. |
New Club Meeting Date Uploaded 3/1/2025 The new meeting date is the 2nd Tuesday of the month. The Macon Amateur Radio Club is merging with MCARS. W5YI will now be providing testing for MCARS. In order accommodate both clubs and testing, we have moved the meeting night from the 2nd Monday to the 2nd Tuesday 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Location will still be: Monroe County Fire Station #14 2106 Dames Ferry Road Forsyth GA 31029

2025 Winter Field Day Results Winter Field Day was held at the Monroe County Recreational Center Pavillion #3 located at 100 Dan Pitts Drive in Forsyh GA. 239 contacts were made on SSB. We worked 4 bands. No digital contacts were made. Kenny and Corbett brought trailers and we set up around the pavilion. We had two dipoles and a vertical antenna set up. |
